This cemetery was established in December 1960. It is spread over a huge area of 152 acres. The vast grounds had many graves. If it were a Japanese cemetery, it would be terrifying. But it was a white cross and I can see the beauty in it.

I can t describe the feelings this morning place of honor evokes Over 17000 honored hero s are buried here The atmosphere is humbling The grounds are free to enter They are maintained by the US government Be sure to have an ID with you It is required for entry

The moment you walk onto the massive driveway you will see the crosses on the grass They go on forever these are the many many brave soldiers who gave their lives so we could have our freedom today Within the grounds there are large murals explaining world war two definitely take the time to sit down and read every one

This is a must see if you are touring Manila The grounds are beautiful and it is an oasis in an otherwise congested and dirty city Carry your passport if you are American You must show proper ID to enter and admission is free The site is maintained through US funds
