It is situated in Fort Santiago, an ex-military barracks. The museum was reconstructed in 1953 and became a museum. Jose Rizal, the most revered national hero, spent his final days in prison there.

The Rizal Shrine, Fort Santiago is dedicated to Dr Jose Rizal, who was executed in Spain in December 1896. It is also home to memorabilia and other historical events.

Rizal Shrine in Fort Santiago is dedicated to Dr Jose Rizal, the Philippines' national hero. There is also a large statue of Rizal and a museum. Knowledge is free but it is not necessary. You need to access the museum first. You need around an hour to see the entire museum.
