Established in February 1995 by 12 young dancers led by Lisa Macuja-Elizalde and Osias Barroso with the guidance of Eric V. Cruz. Training and education are the foremost priorities of Ballet Manila. It currently highlights more than fifty highly trained dancers in the highly rigorous method of classical ballet.
The Ballet Manila School has direct links with the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet in St. Petersburg, Russinova Aca. Here, the students are trained in the Vaganova ballet methodology.
The classes held at this school are split into five levels from 3 levels for girls, namely beginner, intermediate and finally to advance.
We are the leading classical dance company in the Philippines, with the ultimate goal to “bring ballet to the people and people to the ballet”.
Project Ballet Futures PBF was launched in 2008. It is a scholarship program for dance that offers free education in ballet to elementary and high schools students. The School of Ballet Manila is the educational arm of Ballet Manila. It's a respected school for classical ballet and strives to nurture, develop and promote highly-skilled dancers. They are offered meals and vitamins six days per week to help them master their athletic training.
We aim to develop potential danseurs and ballerinas who can meet all the challenges and demands of professional dance. PBF is able to send more street children to the stage with your support. PBF currently trains 25 students at the Philippine Christian Foundation, Pasay City Makati City, and Manila. PBF students are taught the Russian Vaganova method, which is both good for the body as well as the mind by Lisa Macuja Elizalde who serves the role of Artistic Director.
The dance education in this program builds confidence, nurtures emotion intelligence and masters styles and techniques.
