About Cibo

Established in the late ’90s, the idea of building Cibo entered Chef Margarita’s mind in 1987 after learning how to cook with Italian Signoras.

Since the restaurant opened its doors, Cibo has served the home-style culinary approach of Italian cooking through its antipasti, zuppe, insalate, pizze, and more until today.

Cibo has 16 branches all over Metro Manila – Glorietta, Shangri-La Plaza Mall, Alabang Town Center, Greenhills Promenade, Powerplant Rockwell, Eastwood, Gateway, Greenbelt 5, Robinsons Magnolia, SM Megamall, SM Aura, UP Town Center, Evia Mall, UP Town Center, Ayala The 30th, Ayala Manila Bay.

CIBO is a modern, Italian caffé concept in Metro-Manila, created by 2016 Asia's Best Female Chef Margarita Forés.

Our story In 1987 I started my Italian journey, studying from three Italian signoras how to cook. My cooking style was very familiar. I learned a lot from them, including lessons in cooking and the freshest ingredients at the market. In the afternoons they also taught me how to cook and ate in different restaurants. After returning home, I spent almost a decade learning how to cook in their homes and the basics of the industry.

My first CIBO opened in 1997. It was a contemporary Italian caff-paninoteca. The concept of a mushrooming panino place inspired me to open it. We have proudly served a variety of authentic Italian foods, including antipasti and insalate as well as pizze, secondi-piatti, dolci, and paste.

Our success continues at various locations around the city. We bring a modern, authentic taste of Italy into Manila. The quality of the ingredients is a key part of our Philosophy Italian Cuisine. These are our principles.

Only the finest products are used in our kitchens, from both Italy and locally. We source our pasta, coffee, olive oil and cheeses from some of the best and most famous Italian producers. These products are paired with the best harvests from local farmers, including organic greens, herbs and vegetables such as squash flowers, mangoes and strawberries, chicken and crabs, shrimps, and other sea-gifts. The authenticity of the food is preserved and we strive to bring together the best from our country with some of the finest of the international.

We enjoyed the Penne al Telefono Mozzarella white cheddar basil stewed tomato and cream with Parma Ham rucola prociutto crudo Pizza. The family portion was sufficient for two people.
