In 1895, Sun Life Financial began its operations in the Philippines through the representation of the H.J. Andrews and Co. By its 125th year in the country, Sun Life experienced continuous growth while planting the seeds of financial protection in the island.

During Second World War, Sun Life Philippines was forced to suspend its operations but maintained underground operations to support its clientele.

In 1970s coincided with the 75th Anniversary of the company, Sun Life Philippines ranked No. 1 in terms of income with ₱14.9 Million worth of earnings.

One of the company's priorities is its continuing financial literacy program through various campaigns like the Brighter Days Financial Planning Sessions, that teached the values of financial management as well as investing and planning for one’s financial future.

Sun Life is the first and longest-standing life insurer in the Philippines that has been serving Filipinos for over 126 years.
