Established in 1981, TEAM Dance Studio is a ballet and jazz dance school with two studios in Las Piñas. Eli Jacinto designed and applied a training program for Filipino dancers, consolidating classical ballet, modern jazz and contemporary forms to produce dancers of unique dynamism, with remarkable strength and versatility.
TEAM Dance Studio offers dance classes year round, with special Summer classes in April and May, and an annual recital for its students in a concert format in January or February the following year. TEAM Dance Studio has developed its own ballet syllabus, fine-tuned over 30 years of operations. The syllabus aims to train TEAM students in the basic rudiments of classical ballet while targeting strength, grace, agility and sense of performance.
Theatrical Ensemble and Artistic Movement, known more popularly by its acronym TEAM, is the performing arm of TEAM Dance Studio and its choreographic lab headed by Eli Jacinto.

Benjamin Britten created The Young Person s Guide to the Orchestra to encourage musical appreciation and education. TEAM Dance Studio, a jazz and ballet school has two studios in Las Pia. Eli Jacinto developed and implemented a program to train Filipino dancers. It combines classical ballet with modern jazz, contemporary and traditional forms. The result is a dancer of extraordinary strength and flexibility.
A second studio was opened in Pilar Village to serve more residents of Las Pias. Jacqui Jacinto manages the Studio. The studio is also used as a space to create other forms of art and has plans for future residencies. TEAM Dance Studio provides dance classes all year, including special summer classes in April or May and an annual recital in February for students.
TEAM Dance Studio's ballet curriculum has been refined over the past 30 years. This syllabus is designed to teach TEAM students the basics of ballet, while focusing on strength, grace and agility. Joelle Jacinto is the author of this syllabus. They have a longstanding conversation about global trends and progressions.
Through observation tours and workshops, they update their pedagogical knowledge. Baby ballet classes were opened by Jacqui Jacinto in 2000 for toddlers. We offer summer classes for baby ballet, suitable for children aged 3-4 years old. TEAM Dance Studio offers jazz classes in addition to classical ballet.
This was developed by Eli Jacinto from the Luigi School. As part of TEAM's training program, he choreographs modern works that are based on such complex styles. TEAM Dance Studio's annual school recital has been staged over the years. It presents full-length ballets that are of high quality, regardless of the involvement of students from all age groups.
TEAM also has performed in other independently produced shows such as TEAM's Summer Dinner Theatre performances at Manila Polo Club (in the 80s) and Dance and Arts Festival at Gallery Alabang (1985 and 1986). Jacinto invited four of the most prominent ballet companies to join TEAM s students and dancers. He also included artists from other disciplines such as the Saturday Group headed by Cesar Legaspi to draw sketches of the dancers. These recitals and concerts were where Jacinto's creativity thrived.
They produced important works which were highly praised by Basilio Esteban Villeruz (TEAM s first consultant) and Leonor Orosa Goquingco, National Artist. Beyond expectations Eli Jacinto received a CCP venue grant in 1991. He produced Dating Gawi Bagong Anyo. This show featured several acclaimed works, including Manukan and Manton at Abaniko.
It also included a long work inspired by Filipino mythology. TEAM presented a benefit concert with the Stars of Philippine Ballet including Nonoy Froilan, Lisa Macuja, in 1992. The Harid Conservatory of Florida also awarded TEAM dance scholarships. TEAM performed Jacinto's Bathala in 1998 at the Philippine International Dance Festival.
Since 1988 when the Philippine Cultural Center began hosting dance festivals, TEAM has been a regular participant in the Pasinaya Open house festival and the Contemporary Dance Network Manila's Wifi Body Festival. Eli Jacinto founded his Company of Dance Artists in 2011, the performing arm of TEAM Dance Studio, Hampton Court Ballet and TEAM Dance Studio. He wanted to activate dance in Las Pia, which has been home of TEAM since over 30 years. TEAM has continued to present full-length ballets like Swan Lake, Coppelia and Cinderella, along with concerts that feature a variety of Jacinto's modern works as well as excerpts from some of the most loved classical ballets in the world.
TEAM Dance Studio is home to some of the most talented choreographers, dancers, and performers in the Philippines. This will continue for many years. Eli Jacinto's remarkable career spans over decades in fashion, dance and performance. His dance training began with Rosalia Merino–Santos, Far Eastern University's experimental dance.
He also studied folk dance under Madam Lucretia Urtula and jazz under Mr. Tony Llacer and Ms. Totoyde Oteyza. In the Philippines, he was also trained at the David Howard Dance Center and Luigi Dance Center.
Dularawan, Ang Salakot Na Ginto was his first project. His solo performances included Julie Borromeo's Dance Arts and Luis Layag's Dancers of Mercury. He also co-founded Movement Men, Ms. Merino Santos FEU Experimental workshop, Hong Kong TVB and Ms.
Conching Sunico's Karilagan International. His choreography was for Ms. Chito madrigal's Bighani International. He also was an in-house choreographer at Hyatt hotels.
Eli soon became entertainment director at the Sulo Group of Companies and was also the Miss Asia Quest's director of choreography. In the 1970s Eli managed product launches, fashion shows for big-name fashion houses and formidable corporations. TEAM Dance Studio was his school for jazz, ballet, modern, contemporary, and jazz. He also offers coaching, technique, stretching, and training classes to dance students who are preparing for competitive competitions in Dance, Dance Sports, or other related sports like skating and gymnastics.
He started out with foreign syllabuses, but he soon developed his own method for Filipino dancers. Hariraya Ballet Company, Philippine Ballet Theatre also had him as a choreographer and ballet master. In international dance conferences, he represented the Philippines at Manila, Hong Kong and China. His pedagogical skills are constantly updated by him visiting California ballet schools on observation tours, as well as giving master classes.
Eli Jacinto's Company of Dance Artists CODA was established in 2011. It is the performing arm of TEAM Dance Studio, Hampton Court Ballet. The CODA draws on his rich choreography repertoire. Dance critics hail Eli Jacinto as a well-known choreographer.
He is known for being inventive and a skilled craftsman. Some of his most memorable works include Giri and Sa Panimula ng buhay as well as Bathala, In The Sisterhood (Pangilin), Viaje Espa ol. Alvin Yapan, a Cinemalaya finalist who was also awarded the multi-awarded Ang Sayaw ng Dalawang Kaliwang Paa choreography in 2011. Based on the choreography for the movie, he has created a separate suite called Mga Sayaw Mula Sa Ang Sayaw ng Dalawang Kaliwang Paa.
Eli Jacinto's dance school produced many talented principals who now work in local and international companies. Many of those who have left dance have also started their own schools and frequently visit Mr. Jacinto to get updates about their style, teaching techniques and syllabus. Eli Jacinto is still the embodiment of the diligent artist.
