Las Piñas Church Manila

Discover the spiritual haven of a prominent Las Piñas Church, the Shrine of the Five Wounds of Our Lord Jesus Christ, a significant landmark in Metro Manila, Philippines. Conceived in 1998 and consecrated on June 12, 2010, this architectural marvel exemplifies the harmonious blend of faith and contemporary design. Elevated to shrine status by the Diocese of Parañaque in 2012, it embodies the very essence of dynamism, power, and enduring permanence, reflecting the divine attributes it represents.

Inspired by the elegant form of the nautilus, the church showcases impeccable natural proportions and adheres to the golden mean. Its impressive structure stands as a modern landmark, thoughtfully complementing the renowned historic Las Piñas Bamboo Organ Church. The design strategically bridges the gap between the past and the future, securing a cultural legacy for the city and its future generations.

Symbolizing the Holy Trinity, three colossal shells prominently represent the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—the core tenets of Catholic dogma. These vibrant colors are intentionally used to captivate a younger audience, powerfully conveying the message that God is universally present and eternally relevant in their lives.

This sacred space includes a grand 2,500-seat main chapel, providing ample space for worshipers; a dedicated eucharistic chapel for more intimate gatherings; a smaller minor chapel; and a 500-vault columbarium, offering a serene and respectful memorial site. The amenities extend to a 350-seat auditorium for community events and a convenient 25-car basement parking facility.

Constructed using premium materials such as Exterior Insulation Finishing System (EIFS), high-performance architectural glass, luxurious Italian marble, robust steel, and lightweight aluminum, the building showcases a structural frame composed of steel and reinforced concrete—ensuring both lasting beauty and enduring strength. The Shrine of the Five Wounds is more than just a place of worship; it is an intersection of art and architecture that inspires all who visit.
