Animal Care Specialists Veterinary Clinic offers internal and external parasite control & prevention and vaccinations. It has an in-house laboratory equipped with an automated blood chemistry machine and automated hematology (CBC). 
Basic laboratory procedures like urinalysis, fecalysis and skin scrapings are routinely performed. It also uses an ultrasound as its diagnostic imaging tool. The licensed vets perform routine soft tissue surgery, spaying and neutering, dental extractions and prophylaxis.

Animal Care Specialists (ACS) opened in 2005 and is located within the Pet Village section of Frontera Verde’s Tiendesitas, a shopping complex along C-5 Road in Pasig City.

Nielsen, is also an Avian and Exotic Animal Medicine Specialist. After graduating in 1992 from De La Salle Araneta University and training at Mount Pleasant Animal Hospital in Singapore for many years, Dr. Nielsen now consults with various zoos. He also heads numerous wildlife organizations like the Feathered Friends Foundation.

In Pansol, Laguna Wildlife Park Rescue Center is his home. He makes time to be with his family, even though he has a busy schedule. His wife, daughter and son are often with him, where he is following his example and studying to become veterinarians. DR.

MICHAEL VELHAGEN Managing partner After receiving his De La Salle Araneta University degree in 1992, and two years of training at Mount Pleasant Animal Hospital (Singapore), Dr. Mike established a successful home-based veterinary clinic that specializes in internal and preventive medicine. He began to divide his time between house visits, consultations and surgeries at Vets In Practice in 2003. In 2009, he retired as a full-time veterinarian.

However, Dr. Mike became a consultant full time and assumed administration responsibilities. Mike enjoys spending his time caring for 20 cats and dogs at a Laguna rescue shelter. He also advocates and lives a healthy lifestyle.

DR. NICHOLAS CARPIO Managing partner Dr. Nick specializes soft-tissue surgery and canine and feline dentistry. He also has radiography and ultrasonography expertise.

After graduating from UP Los Ba os, in 2000, he studied abroad and here. He worked for two years at various animal hospitals throughout California, including Amar Glen Animal Clinic and Warren Animal Hospital. In addition, he went to Macau as Chief Veterinarian of the Macau Veterinary Center. Since Vets In Practice was founded in 2003, he has slowed down on administrative tasks and focuses more on his position as one of the most senior vets at Vets In Practice.

While Dr. Nick is a keen basketball fanatic as well as an avid car enthusiast and a busy administrator, he never forgets the pleasures of spending weekends with his family at their Lipa farm, Batangas. DR. MARGARITA DELA ROSA–CARPIO Managing partner After graduating in 2000 from UP-Los Ba os, Dr.

Marga spent time at Maryland Pet Hospital in Bethesda and Westchester Animal Hospital. She returned to Manila two years later and was appointed Chief Veterinarian at the Avilon Zoo, Montalban, Rizal. She became the VIP Pet Hotel and Wellness Center's alternative medicine specialist in 2003. She has a deep love for farm life and divides her time between being a mother of three young children and pursuing the opportunity to bring together her two other passions, special-needs children and therapeutic interactions with animals, especially horses and dogs.

PARTNERS partner Dr. Siday began her career as a volunteer at Mandaluyong's first Vets In Practice. She has been with us since then. In 2004, she began her work at Animal Care Specialists as a junior vet.

Three years later she was promoted to Partner and is Chief Veterinarian. She was made a VIP Quezon City Partner in 2013. She is currently the Wellness Center's Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Program Head. Although a passionate traveller who enjoys exploring new places and discovering new cultures, Dr.

Siday doesn't mind returning home to read a book. She also does not shirk from caring for her pets, which include five dogs and eight cats, as well as a tortoise and eight cats. DR. RICHARD ENCOMIENDA partner Since receiving his degree at UP-Los Ba os, in 2000 Dr.

Richard has been working in private and government veterinary clinics here and overseas. Prior to joining Vets In Practice, he served as the chief veterinarian at Advanced Pet Clinic in Riyadh. Before that, he worked as a subic bay marine exploration at Ocean Adventure Marine Park and was the resident veterinarian at Angeles Pet Care Center. Between 2012 and 2016, Dr.

Richard served as our House Call Vet. In 2013, he was made a Partner at VIP Quezon City, where he consults with patients and does surgery. He has three dogs and one cat, all adopted from rescue, which perfectly compliments his diverse hobbies. DR.

DEXTER MERCURIO Partner Doc Dexter graduated in 2005 from the UP College of Veterinary Medicine and has been practising since then. His special interests include companion animal surgery as well as internal medicine. His free time is spent doing exercise. His passions include the beach, nature, and his motorcycle.

Doc Dex is both a husband, and father. He has 3 cats and 2 dogs. DR. MARIEL FLORES Partner After receiving her 2000 degree at UP-Los Banos, her passion for marine animals led to her joining World Wildlife Fund WWF as a cetacean conservationist and researcher.

She began her career at Ocean Adventure Subic, where she took care of sea lions and dolphins. Then she expanded her services to include exotic and companion animals and was a clinic volunteer for NGO Wildlife In Need. In 2013, she joined VIP Alabang and was appointed Chief Veterinarian. She then became a Partner.

It is this passion that drives her to continue caring for patients and she applies her knowledge and skills in palliative, preventive, and diagnostic medicine. Although she continues to be active in rescue efforts for marine animals like dugongs and dolphins, she enjoys coming home to her four-legged family of dogs and cats after a hard day. DR. JAY BAROLOME Partner Jay received his De La Salle Araneta University degree in 1998.

He then began to develop his expertise at his private practice. He moved to Hong Kong six years later and spent more than 10 years in two clinics caring for animals. He returned to the UK in 2015 and became a Senior Veterinarian at Vets In practice. Recently, he was appointed Partner of VIP Fort.

His years of expertise have made him an important part of the team in areas such as emergency and critical care and soft tissue and ortho surgery, ultrasonography and internal medicine. Although he occasionally indulges in his musical passions by playing the piano in his spare time, Dr. Jay is a father and husband to his two daughters. He also loves being a furdad to a Chihuahua, and cat.

DR. JESS AYCOCHO Partner After graduating in 2008 from De La Salle Araneta University, Dr. Jess joined the Vets In Practice team almost immediately. He was a junior vet and displayed exceptional skills in canine and feline medicine and surgery.

In less than 2 years, Jess joined the Vets in Practice family. You might see Dr. Jess at a gym sparring or punching with his partner when he is not working. You might find him at home, with his dogs and cats.

She has been promoted to Chief Veterinarian at VIP Mandaluyong. Her special interests in cats and skills in soft-tissue surgery and emergency care make her an integral part of Vets In Practice. Dr. Mau has been a VIP Mandaluyong resident veterinarian and now is an Associate Partner. He volunteers at Gawad Kalinga and is an avid biker. DR.

RIZI MAE TULBA Associate Partner In 2011, Dr. Rizi graduated from Central Mindanao University with a degree in Veterinary Medicine. Although she was small, Rizi attended specialized workshops and trainings. She also learned how to manage cattle farms and dairy operations, which required her to be able ride horses.

She decided to go into companion animal medicine. In 2012, she joined Carveldon and became both an Associate Partner and Chief Resident vet. Her hobbies include reading fiction and nonfiction books, traveling, and baking treats for dogs. She also enjoys spending time at home with her three Shih Tzus.
