The Lopez Memorial Museum is the oldest privately owned and managed museum and library specializing in Philippine material. It reaches back to books and maps of the sixteenth century works by the first internationally acclaimed duo of Filipino painters,
Since its founding 50 years ago, the fine art section has grown from an initial collection of 19th-century masterpieces consisting of 36 Juan Lunas and 182 Felix Resurreccion Hidalgos to include modern and contemporary pieces. The library currently counts over 19,000 Filipiniana titles by 12,000 authors, rare books, maps, manuscripts, and literary works.
The library is located at the far end of the museum, where one can see some more paintings, some classic photographs, and of course, the rare publications that are part of the Lopez collection. The area is spacious, which makes it conducive to reading and research.
It is open from Monday to Saturday, 8 AM to 5 PM. There is a P100 entrance fee.
