The rainforest park was opened publicly in 1977, with an initial area of 4.8 hectares (12 acres). It had a jogging oval, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, tennis courts, a children's playground, and a fitness center. In 1996, they expanded the park after acquiring an additional 2.1 hectares (5.2 acres).
The park was relaunched as the Rainforest Adventure Experience (RAVE) in 2013 with the completion of the zip line, boating lagoon, a skatepark, and obstacle course. It was located in the village of Maybunga, which stretches along Francisco Legaspi Street.
