About University of Asia and the Pacific

UA&P is a private university in the Philippines. It traces its beginnings to the Center for Research and Communication (CRC), founded on August 15, 1967. The doctrinal and spiritual formation given in the university is entrusted a Personal prelature of the Catholic Church, Opus Dei.

The university offers 11 graduate degrees and 15 undergraduate degrees. They offer a 5-Year Program (5YP) to Freshman students that allow them to earn a master's degree in just five years and two fast-track Master's programs. They also offer 6-Year Integrated Program (6YP) to incoming Junior College (Senior High School) students that allow them to earn a master's degree in just six years.

In their initial years at the University, students receive a solid liberal education program. The students then begin taking courses in the specialization they have chosen. They may be able to graduate in five years if they complete the five-year program. Students are taught to think critically, to use analytical thinking, to make ethical judgements, to see the world from different perspectives, and to be able to analyze and evaluate ideas.

The multidisciplinary teaching method allows students to see connections between disciplines, understand the complexity and make sense of the whole. Students learn to express ideas in the liberal arts program. In a long tradition of excellence and service as well as whole-person education, the University is paving new ground. We are committed to the University's Credo.

It is our goal to attain unity in all aspects: unity in the university community; unity between faith, reason and religion; unity between life and death. This motto reflects everyone's commitment to wisdom and entails a unity in life. 1967 Dr. Jesus P. Estanislao and Bernardo M.

Villegas founded the Center for Research and Communication CRC, a private think-tank. It was aimed at private-sector businesses and analyzed the economic and business environment to determine their impact on strategy. 1968 1972 1983 1983 1987 Bishop Alvaro del Portillo (then prelate of Opus Dei) reminded CRC about the challenges faced by St. Josemara Escriv in establishing a university. 1989 March 19: The College of Arts and Sciences, a starting point for university conversion was opened. The College of Arts and Sciences had 158 students. 1991, 1992 and 1993 August 15, The School of Economics were established.

September 15, 1995, the School of Education was renamed School of Education and Human Development. 1995 June 26 CRC became the University of Asia and the Pacific UA P through conversion by the Commission on Higher Education CHED. August 15, UA P was officially installed by Angel Alcala (ChED Chairman), Gloria Alcala (Education Secretary) and Rosario Lopez, Chairman of Securities and Exchange Commission. November 28th, Dr. Jesus P.

Estanislao became the first president of UA P. Fr. Ramon Lopez is awarded the title honorary of Vice Grand Chancellor. UA P offered a five-year straight master s degree program.

On June 15, 1996, the first Graduation Rite was held by UA P. First University play staged. Antonio V. S. directed Masdan ang Iyong Ina.

Flores, Reynaldo AntonioJ. Leuterio. 1997 Construction of the seven-story APEC Communications Building. The UA P was the first Philippine university that offered a compulsory subject in corporate social responsibility. This followed the CHED Memo 39 of 2006. 2005 Launch of the 1st Marketing Communication Effectiveness Awards, precursor to the Asia Pacific Tambuli Awards.

This award recognizes campaigns in marketing communication that are both business-oriented and socially responsible. October 7, 2006: The inaugural Eucharistic procession was held in UA P. 2006 2008 2009 2012 2013 Juni 22 School of Law and Governance SLG. It was established the Mariano and Estelita De Jesus Que Professorial chair on Family and Education Youth. UA P was the first Philippine university to publish a sustainability document following the GRI reporting framework. 2014 Creation of the BPI Professorial chair for migration and overseas Filipino work.

UA P was the first Asian organization to receive the Corporate Family Responsibility CFR accreditation from the International Center for Work and Family ICWF at the IESE Business School Instituto de Estudios Superiores de la Empresa, Spain. UA P turned on the 300kW photovoltaic sun power system. This made it one of the most prominent schools in Pasig City and possibly the Philippines. Construction of the Parking and Sports Building has been completed. 2015 2016, 2017 The College of Arts and Sciences CAS serves as the main entrance to the university.

The three-year Liberal Arts Program at CAS gives students a strong foundation in humanities. Students can then move into their chosen field after completing the undergraduate program. The following are the features of education in CAS. A liberal education curriculum which integrates learning skills and knowledge of basic principles of major fields.

One-on-one mentoring between student and mentor to bring the general theory to life and to integrate knowledge and values with intellectual skills. Co-curricular activities with activities that promote professionalism and solidarity with the most vulnerable members of society. The following degrees are conferred by CAS. QAO was established in May 2014.

It is responsible for the administration, evaluation, and management of all processes that govern, among other, program accreditation. QAO worked closely with administrative and academic units to implement the strict standards of self-assessment. The University has since undergone several accreditation visits, which ranged from consultation to accreditation at higher levels. The QAO continues to advocate for continuous improvement of University programs and services by pursuing intensifying efforts to develop a culture of quality among academic and administrative units.

In pursuit of educational excellence by quality enhancement and improvement, UA P submits voluntarily all academic programs at the undergraduate and graduate level to the Commission on Higher Education CHED and external accrediting bodies such as the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Acreditation PACUCOA. Institutional Assessment UA P was assessed by CHED s Institutional Sustainability assessment ISA. In this process, the five key areas of governance, management, creativity, teaching, and research were evaluated. CMO No. 205 has extended the validity of UA P's autonomous status to an additional three years. 7, Series 2021.

The University will continue to be an independent institution of higher learning and enjoys the CMO No. 19, s. 2016. Accreditation 100 of the University's accreditable undergraduate programmes have been re-accredited. 88 graduate programs are Level III reaccredited RA. In SY 2021-2022, the College of Arts and Sciences' Liberal Arts Program will be reaccredited at Level IV. PACUCOA cited three graduate programs from the School of Economics as being among the first to be granted Level III reaccreditation status in NCR or the Philippines for professionals working in economics, general management and corporate planning.

The Master of Science and Master in Applied Economics are these programs. Also, the Master of Arts in Communication Program of School of Communication is credited for having been the first Master s Program of Communication to receive Level III Reaccreditation in NCR. Sustainability Reporting: The University received international credits through Global Reporting Initiative GRI, an Amsterdam-based independent international organization which provides standards for sustainability reporting.

The University's Sustainability Reports are proud to boast the outstanding record of UA P, which was the first Southeast Asian academic institution to produce a Sustainability Report in 2012. The University of Asia Pacific is the only Asian university to have produced a 2014 Sustainability Report in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (or GRI G4 Guidelines Comprehensive) option. This is an externally verified option. It also completed the GRI Materiality Disclosures Service.

UA P also included a fourth view academic performance as part of its sustainability reports. This is consistent with its mandate to be relevant to society and respond to its stakeholders. Recently, University received the 2019 Organizational Mark of the Global Reporting Initiative GRI. This was for the 2014-2017 Sustainability ReportSR.

Its theme is Taking Stock Of Our Footprints And Imprints. GRI's organizational marking is an official confirmation that the report submitted has successfully passed the Materiality Disclosures Services. GRI, an Amsterdam-based independent international organization providing the most widely used standards for sustainability reporting and disclosure is a global organisation. This third Sustainability Report, which includes reporting periods from 2014 to 2017, is another accomplishment of the University.

It was the first Southeast Asian academic institution to create a sustainability report using the GRI Standards 2019. GRI's set of standards includes three general standards as well as thirty-three specific standards that are organized in economic, social and environmental series. The ERC, or External Review Committee, was responsible for ensuring that the sustainability of the project is compliant with international standards. It also included a rigorous process to ensure its integrity.

This committee consisted of top-ranking external reviewers from the fields of education, finance and environment. You can access the sustainability reports here. Times Higher Education World University Impact Rankings 2020 UA P has been placed in the 2020 edition Times Higher Education THE World University Impact Rankings based upon the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals UN SDGs. The University of Santo Tomas and De La Salle University were also included in this year's ranking.

UA P participated for the first time in the THE Impact Rankings. It submitted data about the Sustainable Development Goals SDG SDG8 Decent Work, Economic Growth, and SDG12 Responsible Consumption & Production. UA P ranked between 201-300th and 766 universities from 85 countries, and SDG 4 Quality Education, and SDG 17 Partnerships for the Goals. The University ranked anywhere between 500 and 600th.

Here are links to all the results. THE Impact Rankings assess the success of global universities in meeting United Nations s 17 SDGs. The methodology uses calibrated indicators that allow for balanced and comprehensive comparisons in three main areas: outreach, research and stewardship. The universities are required to submit data for as many SDGs as possible.

Every SDG includes a set of metrics which are used for evaluating the performance of universities on particular SDGs. You can read MSN News' coverage here. All aspects of the University's operation are geared towards its distinctive features, which include education, research, communication, and people development. VALUES EDUCATION UA P believes in instilling time-tested values and attitudes in people.

Its academic programs include courses in professional and social ethics. The Center for Student Affairs CSA is responsible for this task. PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT UA P's social development arm works to provide integrated programs for people who are disadvantaged and poor. This includes values formation, technical and general education, cooperation, and health and nutrition.

All faculty and students from the University of Asia and the Pacific are eligible to submit articles for CAS Review. The School of Economics provides industry monitors that provide analysis and reviews of performance and prospects as well as competition. Multidisciplinary teams or research and development experts are assigned to analyze and monitor specific sectors in Manufacturing, Agribusiness, and Services. Innovatus can be referred to as the Past Participle of Innovare, or Innovate in Latin. This research journal contains peer-reviewed, double-blind research articles that were submitted to the Yearly International Research Conference on Emerging Information Technology Trends In Asia and the Pacific. It also includes the best papers written by UA P Information Technology students. This journal is open to original research in Information Technology, Computer Science and Information System as well as related disciplines.

The School of Economics and First Metro Investment Corporation publish Market Call monthly. This publication provides the most recent forecasts about the Philippine economy. It focuses on the capital markets (stock market, bond market, money market). The School of Economics provides estimates and forecasts of the most important macroeconomic indicators for the country and institutions, such as interest rates and exchange rates.

The School of Economics offers staff memos that provide an impact assessment of urgent domestic and global issues. This helps executives and managers to make informed decisions and action plans. Synergeia, a refereed journal that interdisciplinary studies in the humanities, social sciences, and business is published by UA P. These articles focus less on specific areas like marketing, finance and production and more on humanistic and sociological aspects such as ethics and corporate social responsibility.

The School of Economics' Urban Markets Advisor examines and validates risks and opportunities for consumers in Metro Manila, the 16 rural regions, as well as government projects. Roundtable, a forum and magazine of the Institute of Political Economy, provides deep analyses, commentary, and perspective on current issues. The institute's vital link to its university partners and the community at large is made possible by Roundtable. Food and Agri Business Monitor is a monthly publication that highlights short articles about selected agrifood industries.

The magazine provides brief summaries of key developments within the sector, both locally and internationally. It also includes comments and notes from CFA staff on agri-food issues. The monthly price monitors for selected agricultural commodities are also included. FAM also includes the Food and Agri Business Papers at the end each quarter.

These papers provide in-depth analysis of the food and agri industry, including pertinent policy issues and quarterly statistics about the country's top agricultural imports and exports. University of Asia and the Pacific Foundation, Inc. UA P, is a University of Asia and the Pacific Foundation, Inc. UA PFI, project that supports its wide research, training, and education purposes.

UA PFI, a non-stock, non-profit corporation, has the primary goal of establishing colleges, schools and centers that can be used to promote the Christian ideals and spirit. The University's activities should aim to improve the material, moral and cultural status of each country or region. UA P aims to provide a comprehensive education for its students, including the formation and pursuit of Catholic ideals. The UA PFI wishes that every activity of the University, including research, publication and extension, be infused with the spirit of Opus Dei and the Christian ideals as lived and taught by Saint Josemar a Escriv, its founder.

The UA PFI and the Prelature of the Holy Cross signed an agreement to accomplish this goal. It established permanent consultation mechanisms, and created specific channels by which the spirit of Opus Dei could be passed to the academic community. To fulfill the above-mentioned objective, the Office for the Vice Grand Chancellor OVGC has been established. Board of Trustees.

The University of Asia is managed by the Board of Trustees. The UA PFI Board of Trustees oversees the University and directs ManCom, the Management Committee, to ensure that its decisions and strategies are aligned with the university s educational philosophy. Each quarter, the Board meets in plenary. The Executive Committee meets during any inconsistency.

The Foundation's affairs, property, and business are its responsibility. It is composed of the President, Vice-Chair, Treasurer, and Chair. The ExCom also decides upon matters that are raised at the quarterly plenary Board meetings. Before a formal recommendation to the plenary Board is made, the ExCom reviews ManCom submissions.

After being told that food preparation would take 15 minutes, we waited over 45 minutes before finally getting our order. Worst morning service I ve ever seen. Good luck if you lack patience.

While waiting for your children to finish their evening classes, the Pancake House on Pearl Drive is a great stop. The place is cozy, small and has good air conditioning. The Tacos 2 options out...of 3. Php143 is a great value. The Adobo version was my favorite, over the Pulled Pork. The Adobo version was better. For any item you purchase, always a... see more
