The Greenbelt Chapel is located in the middle of the Makati Business District and in the center of the Shopping Malls. It is surrounded by trees and plants wherein kids and family can relax.&nbsp;

This place is for those who&rsquo;d love to know about the religious aspects of Manila city. The construction of this chapel was completed in the year 1983. Apart from being one of the most religiously rich places, Greenbelt Chapel is also renowned for its architecture and is therefore counted amongst the most attractive buildings in the city.

Faith is friendship with Christ His Holiness. Pope Benedict XVI opened the Year of Faith on Oct. 11, 2012, bringing a moment of grace to the whole Catholic Church. This date falls on the 50th anniversary of Vatican II Council. It was that historic Church council which responded to Blessed John XXII&#39;s call to interpret and act upon the signs of times. This date also marks the 20th anniversary the publication of The Catechism for the Catholic Church. 
 
The Holy Father stresses that the occasion does not revolve around anniversaries. These are things from the past. He instead highlights Faith and New Evangelization, as there is a greater need now than ever. In a world where materialism, individualism, and relativism are all threatening to destroy humanity, we need more faith. 
 
The old Church Europe and America stations are disappearing. This means that new energy, new pastoral approaches, and new prophets is needed to carry on the mission of evangelization. Our dear Archbishop Chito tagle, in his pastoral letter, invites us all to examine the present world and its wounds, to hear the deepest cries, aspirations, and to proclaim Jesus Christ to these people with new methods, expressions, and fervor. Individual and collective challenges are presented by the Year of Faith. 
 
Through catechisms and faith formation sessions, we can deepen our faith through bible studies, catechisms, and other means. It is important to evaluate whether our faith drives our actions and choices. It is important to celebrate and live out our faith celebrations, particularly the sacraments. With the canonization of San Pedro Calungsod, our second Filipino saint, The Year of Faith has a greater meaning. 
 
He is a shining example of the virtues that we should emulate: his zeal and courage to share the faith, and dedication to the mission and Church are all to be celebrated. It was a great way to begin the Year of Faith in Philippines. Our role model is also our intercessor. We have saints in faith at San Lorenzo Ruiz, and San Pedro Calungsod. 
 
These are the people who have walked ahead of us on our path to inspire and lead. These people remind us about our calling. All of us are called to become saints. The Year of Faith will awaken the call of Christ in us. 
 
The most important thing is that authentic faith allows us to deepen and cultivate our relationship with Christ, a favourite expression of Pope Francis. It means that I believe I&#39;m a friend to Jesus. When I&#39;m a friend to the Lord, His joy and my joy are His. His mission is mine. 
 
Saints are friends of Jesus. A person who is close to Jesus can be called a friend. To conclude, I will quote Pope Benedict XVI&#39;s words: May this Year of Faith strengthen our relationship to Christ the Lord. Only in Christ can we have the certainty of looking into the future, and also the assurance of a genuine and lasting love.

The island of Binondo was purchased in 1594 by the Spanish Governor, then given over as an area for Christian Chinese to settle. As a result, Binondo outgrew the other missions, evolved into a town, and became the center of Chinese integration into Manila&#39;s Hispanic, Christian society. Soon after the foundation of Binondo, the Church of Binondo was built in its first iteration. As hoped by the missionaries, the Church was a central institution in the community.

Popularly known as Binondo Church, the Minor Basilica and National Shrine of San Lorenzo Ruiz was established by the Dominicans in 1596 and initially dedicated to Saint Gabriel the Archangel who became Binondo&rsquo;s patron until the mid-19th century. It is also known as Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Parish as it venerates the Blessed Virgin Mary as Binondo&rsquo;s patroness from the early 1700s up to the present.

With its Modern Spanish style built in Art Deco, adapting the latest technique in building reinforced concrete, the church&#39;s architectural design is composed of Romanesque and Gothic, measuring 85&times;40 meters and a height of 25 meters.

An Italian sculptor designed the bas-relief of this church, and the front of the church contains planes with leaves. You can also see the story of the La Naval as you set your eyes over the portals of the church.

A secret vault holds thousands of artifacts given by its fervent devotees. Unfortunately, thieves made it hidden from everyone and only showed off the artifacts fit for public viewing. Diocese of Antipolo is a testament to a religious controversy in Marikina&#39;s early history where both the Augustinians and Jesuits fought over the ecclesiastical control of the area. It is also known for featuring Metro Manila&#39;s longest Holy Week procession, with around 83 floats as of 2019. 
Governor Gabriel Cruz Elasque ordered the transfer of Marikina to the Augustinians&#39; supervision on March 10, 1687, and combined with the ministry of San Mateo. He instructed the Tondo Mayor Don Juan Pimentel to demolish and vacate the visita of Jes&uacute;s de la Pe&ntilde;a as the Marikina River would flood the site during the rainy season. 26 November 2022 This is the start of Advent. Today&#39;s readings invite us to be ready for the Son of Man. This is also an invitation for us to examine ourselves and see where we are at our best. The first week in Advent offers an opportunity to review what has been done well as what has not. Is it ready for the Son Of Man to arrive? Or is too much busy that He will not come soon enough? Today&#39;s gospel reminds us to be prepared because you never know when the Son. 
 
A quote says that luck is when opportunity meets preparation. However, this is not the case. His arrival is not an accident, but a sign of our hope for redemption. Let us use this time to be prepared for what is to come.

We will be reading a portion of the Crucifixion scene in the Gospel. This is why? When people think about kingship they often think of various grandiosities like wealth, power and titles. 
 
Christ&#39;s kingship seems to have a different purpose. According to the Gospel, Christ is the King and King of Love. He wants to rule our hearts. Although He might be the owner of the entire universe and all things in it, He wants our hearts. 
 
Even though He is aware of our sinful nature, He waits and hopes for it. Even though He is God and King, who are all-powerful He still chose to suffer all of the sufferings of humanity so that we might be saved. This was done by God through the Cross, which is a sign of His great love and devotion to us. Your sufferings will not be wasted. 
 
When we share them with God, they are sacred. These are meant to strengthen our faith and make us more qualified to go to the Kingdom of God, Heaven. We must remember, in this moment of great solemnity to give our hearts, lives and plans to God, the True King. While there are many other people and things that may be a part of our lives, without God they will all become empty.

The crown, the scepter and cape are all decorations that give splendor an extra touch. A king can&#39;t rely on only appearances. Although symbols of faith such as the cross and Christ&#39;s name are common, it is rare that we can attribute such commonality to kingship. Kingship can be reserved for beauty and grandeur. 
 
These symbols can often deviate from the meaning of their symbol and suspend belief in human governance&#39;s fallibility. It is possible to view reminders of Christ as merely decorations that can be used for superstition in the midst all other troubles life throws at us. The cross is now a symbol of Christ&#39;s strength, and it brings about a new sense of the heavenly kingdom. The kingdom is filled with God&#39;s invitation to all to follow His promise of peace. 
 
Pope Pius XI recognized the necessity to strengthen Christ&#39;s kingship in a period of increasing social unrest and upheavals among nations. On December 11, 1925, Pope Pius XI published the encyclical Quas Primas. In it, he called society godless and described the rise of empires. This prompted him to establish a solemnity which recognizes Jesus Christ Christ as King at each liturgical year&#39;s end. 
 
At Calvary&#39;s crucifixion, a sign was put over Jesus&#39; head. This sign confirms what Jesus previously told Pilate, that he was the King of all the Jews. For those who rejected His mission, the title that hangs over Jesus Christ at the cross is an abominable mockery. The unmasked truth is ridiculed for its clarity. 
 
God doesn&#39;t punish us for mocking the holy. He allows us to look at and act in accordance with what is happening. Jesus welcomes to his kingdom any thief that repents, after he has been identified by the sinner who was crucified alongside him. This is a call to all people to repent and recognize their true king, as a way of helping themselves. 
 
The gospels reveal that the devil gave Jesus a crown as riches as his physical senses could gather. Jesus did forty days of fasting in the desert and could easily have succumbed to the lure of the world&#39;s great palaces, with their promises of power. But He refused. You might think of Christ&#39;s rule as an illusion based on thousands of years worth of blind obedience. 
 
Christ isn&#39;t an Emperor whose palace protects him from the people&#39;s misery. Christ&#39;s unique kingship is found in the way it joins people, no matter where they are. The foundation of Christ&#39;s kingdom was a love for all people. Christ&#39;s reign should not foster an illusion of power over others. 
 
Jesus&#39; reign did not seek equivalence to empires run by men. Instead, He became a man, sympathizing and supporting the poor. This led him to reject the temptations of equate empty splendor with God s truest reign. Christ, The Source and Summit Of Life, declared a mystical reign, that is, an unencumbered kingdom, to all who inquired about his mission in coming into the world. 
 
Christ lives in a society that allows everyone to forget about the need to alleviate all suffering and embraces the experiences of every person to the extent of complete sacrifice. It is easy to see the risks of subscribing only to those who are interested in advancing the interests of few. Leaders that promise peace and advancement at the expense or the benefit of others are not serving the interests of their constituents. Christ is freed from the will of deluded people when the truth bends to their wishes. 
 
Christ is only liberated by the sacrifice to serve justice. He is the King of Kings, sitting on a throne at the altar. This figure has an inestimable amount of glory. Christ invites us to reflect on another aspect of His divinity, which is communing, persevering and ministering as we close the liturgical calendar year.

The Shrine of Mary, Queen of Peace, Our Lady of EDSA, or more popularly, the EDSA Shrine, is a small church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Manila built in 1989 on donated land to commemorate the People Power revolution. It is the site of two peaceful demonstrations that bring down President Joseph Estrada (the EDSA Revolution of 2001 or EDSA II) and Ferdinand Marcos (the People Power Revolution or EDSA I). 
It is also called the Archdiocesan Shrine of Mary, Queen of Peace or Mary, Queen of Peace Quasi-Parish, although these names are rarely used. The National Commission declared it for Culture and the Arts as an Important Cultural Property.
