The Asian Center is the only unit of UP with a regional area of specialization and one of the colleges on the university's Diliman campus. It was established in 1955 as the Institute of Asian Studies. It offers graduate-level multidisciplinary programs in Philippine and Asian studies. Its mandate is underpinned by Republic Act 5334, which took effect in June 1968.
It has GT-Toyota Asian Center Auditorium that can be rented for large conferences, seminars, and academic and corporate events but cannot be rented for parties, debuts, weddings, and the like. The seminar room is ideal for small meetings, workshops, and forums. It can accommodate up to 50 to 60 chairs. They also have an exhibit hall which can be used for art or photo exhibits.
Established in 1955, the Asian Center is primarily an educational facility of UP Diliman. It houses the GT-Toyota Asian Center Auditorium, as well as four exhibition halls (ASEAN Hall, Philippines Hall, Japan Hall, and China Hall), all of which can be rented for conferences, lectures, and art exhibits.
