About Jay J's Inasal Timog

Jay-j's Inasal is one of the best Inasal restaurants in the metro, serving some of the best regional Filipino cuisines. It took owner Jay Mendoza and his team a few dozen trips all over the Philippines to have a taste of the best that every region has to offer. But it all started in the Western Visayas Region, where the now famous grilled chicken dish started.

The secret to this well-loved dish is in the marinade. First, the local Ilonggo vinegar made from coconut forms the base that gives Jay-j's Inasal its' distinct flavor. Then, they mix it with a few secret herbs and spices.

The Davao Region is well represented by another grilled Filipino specialty, grilled tuna, which comes in two variants: panga and belly. With Cebu's pride and joy, the Sinuglaw offers the perfect combination of grilled pork and fresh tuna cubes.

At Jay-j's, they also have Bicolano cuisine, known for two things – coconut milk and chili peppers. And the two dishes that best represent these two ingredients are found in Jay-j's expansive menu. These are Bicol express and Laing.

To those craving some Ilocano cuisine, Jay-j's has loads of it. Their version of Pinakbet can instantly transport you to the region's old towns in one bite. Jay-j’s has the Kapampangan versions of Filipino classics like Sisig, Kare-kare and Crispy Pata.

Jay-J's Chicken Inasal Restaurant's menu covers the grilled chicken and a variety of Filipino dishes - from seafood to poultry to meat. Most of them are owner's family dishes recipes enhanced to the customers' taste.

It was lunchtime so there was no Lunch crowd. The chicken Inasal was hard and tasted dry after being reheated several times. The Bangus was good. There were a lot of menu items out of stock.

ATM The staff's nose is still RUNNING. I just entered the hour, and the food is already heavy. It is also irritating that their sister girl acts rudely to everyone she meets. I understand that they are tired. But please do your job with smiles or no smiles.
