Barrio Chino

Binondo or Barrio China Manila is the oldest Chinatown in the world. It is very authentic, especially if you love to have some Chinese foods and items, watch the Dragon dance on the Chinese new year, and more. It is an important place between China and the Philippines and a strategic trading point.
Binondo was founded in 1594 by Governor Luis Pérez Dasmariñas to put together the entire community of Chinese immigrants, especially the growing community of Chinese converts to Catholicism who lived in Manila at that time in the same area and on the outskirts of Intramuros. During your visit, you cannot miss the following places; Chinese-Philippine Friendship Arch, Seng Guan Temple, Kuang Kong Temple, Basilica of San Lorenzo Ruiz and Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary, Church of Santa Cruz, and Escola Street.
