About Galileo Enoteca Deli

Galileo Enoteca is a multi-awarded Italian Wine Bar, and Restaurant tucked away in a quiet district of Mandaluyong. It was opened in 2004 by Gaetano Vitrano, an Italian national who first came to the Philippines in 2000 to start a trading business for imported Italian wine and gourmet food products which eventually blossomed into a restaurant business.

2003, Galileo opened a store in Sangumay, Mandaluyong city, finally making Galileo more visible to potential customers. This store became easily well-loved, a cozy little place where Gaetano and his family members served wine, cold cuts & cheese, and another delicatessen.

At Galileo you can taste three wines before ordering your best choice, featuring different wine variants from across regions of Italy. Each of the wine variants is best paired with how heavy the meal is, and since we are just going to have a light dinner, Merlot, a wine named from grapes where it is made from.

For the spaghetti and pasta, Gelieo's offers Penne al Gorgonzola, a creamy and cheesy pasta dish made from melted Gorgonzola cheese, a kind of blue cheese made in the northern regions of Italy, and Spaghetti Fruitti di Mare with a variety of seafood in the dish. It is claimed to be the best-selling Spaghetti with Olive Oil, shrimp, Quid, Clams & Mussels, best paired with Chardonnay.

It is an Italian Restaurant and Library of Wines. Enoteca is an Italian word which means ‘wine-library’ or a place where one ideally finds a wide showcase of wine varieties, available for tasting and often served with simple, rustic food to complement it.

This is a must-see if you're in Mandaluyong and looking to meet someone romantic. It's a very authentic Italian vibe. Great food. We will definitely be back.

They were once a secret gem in Mandaluyong, but we are glad they have become more well-known. Risotto Al Funghi Porcini was delicious. Garlic buttered shrimps with pesto were medium-sized and had plenty of truffle flavor. Spaghetti Carbonara was also excellent and served with no cream. We appreciated their complimentary bread and dips while waiting... see more

The atmosphere was nice. However, the food took a while to arrive. Kudos to staff for putting cheese on the table as we waited.

UPDATE: I've been wanting to return to the pasta place since I had my experience. They also only offer Italian wines. Goodbye Pizza was OK. But, to my delight, their seafood pasta was amazing. I have never tasted so perfect pasta in Manila.

Although I was unable to capture all of the food, I did take photos of the following: Pizza Prosciutto with arugula Garlic-buttered shrimp pesto Margherita Pasta Spaggetti Frutti di Mare red Farfalle tartufata Spaghetti alle Vongole Italian summer salad. There is limited parking at the restaurant but there is a nearby pay parking.

It is one of the most popular Italian restaurants in Metro Manila. We enjoyed Spaghetti Frutti di Mare, a baked chicken dish with anchovies and pizza.

Service was slow. It felt like they only had one chef for all the restaurant. Even cold cuts were taken almost an hour to prepare.
