The Museum of Contemporary Art and Design (MCAD) was designed by local architect Ed Calma and is the only space in the Philippines that approximates a gallery space and international contemporary art museum.
MCAD’s programs were molded in line with the school’s courses: film, animation, fashion design, multi-media, architecture, photography, and music production. It produces outstanding exhibitions with worldwide standards by collaborating with professional curators and artists, both international and local.
The Museum of Contemporary Art and Design (MCAD) is a not-for-profit institution that continues to be the external face of De La Salle – College of Saint Benilde.
Our Mission: The Museum of Contemporary Art and Design MCAD, a non-profit institution, continues to serve as the external face of De La Salle College of Saint Benilde. MCAD is a unique institution in the area because it does not collect any collections. Its current art exhibitions and Learning programs as well other cultural or art-inspired endeavors show off technology and new media. MCAD encourages interaction with art, culture and its production and presentation. MCAD has been recognized as a leader in exhibition and curatorial practice.
It is an institution where art is at the center, inspiring its visitors and providing a platform for understanding and changing the world. Vision The museum's vision is to remain open-minded and flexible to changing society and politics, and to the creation of new ideas. It continues to create an inclusive paradigm that allows everyone free access to all of its collections. This includes a broad range of classes and knowledges.
