About NAIA Terminal 1

NAIA Terminal 1, known as Ninoy Aquino Terminal, is the oldest terminal in Manila Airport and can accommodate 6 million passengers per year. It was completed in 1981 to accommodate the country's growing international passenger traffic levels during the 1970s.

It operates several international services and flights except for those operated by Cebu Pacific Air, PAL Express, Philippine Airlines, All Nippon Air (ANA), Delta Air Lines, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Emirates Airline, Singapore Airlines, and Cathay Pacific Airways. 

There are Store Outlet situated right after the Departure Immigration Area and the Arrival Area of Terminal 1 NAIA, where passengers can avail of last-minute shopping of duty and tax-free merchandise. They can choose from a wide variety of perfumes, chocolates, snacks, leather goods, watches, liquor, wines, cigarettes, and cigars without worrying about confiscation or excess baggage.

NAIA Terminals 1 also has concessionaires at the pre-boarding areas with smoking rooms for their clients. Other smoking areas are outside the building.

NAIA Terminal 1, known as Ninoy Aquino Terminal, operates several international services and flights of Philippine Airlines. It has 78 check-in counters and 24 immigration stations that process the daily stream of passengers departing for various worldwide ports.

NAIA operates four terminals for passengers. MNL Airport serves as a hub in Cebu Pacific. Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA IATA NNL, ICAO RPLL ), also called Manila International Airport, or Manila Airport, or simply Manila Airport is one of two international airports that serve the Metro Manila Area. It serves as the main gateway to the Philippines.

The airport's name is in honor of Senator Benigno Ninoy Aquino Jr. who was killed at the airport on September 13, 1983. NAIA can be found along the border of Pasay, Para aque and Metro Manila. It is situated approximately 7km 3.4 miles southwest of Makati Central Business District and around 7 km 3.4 mi south of the city. MNL Airport serves as a hub for Cebu Pacific and Cebgo airlines, Philippine Airlines, PAL Express, Cebgo and is also a focal city for Philippines AirAsia.

In 2019, 47,898,046 people traveled to MNL Airport. This is a 6.3% increase over the year before. Coronavirus affected 13.120.000 people. Manila Airport was home to 7,275,786 passengers in 2021.

NAIA Airport is composed of four passenger terminals NAIA Terminal 1 NAIA Terminal 1 handles almost all international flights. There are west gates 1-7, and east gates 9-15.

If you can, avoid this country and all its airports. There is no WiFi at Phillipines terminals or airports. They also don't have any places to store it. You will have to wait until your flight arrives. If you're in transit, and you need to be there for more than three hours, they won't allow you into the airport. Worst airport ever! It has no lifts, escalators or stairs to get to the gate. There are also very few food options. We will not be landing or taking off from Terminal 1. We must do more for a country that depends on tourism!

The check-in process for airlines is a nightmare. You are in a public marketplace. It is similar to EDSA. Waiting lists for airline flights are similar to a large can of SARDINES stuffed with people.
