In 1968 when Metropolitan Hospital was incorporated by the United Doctors Service Corporation situated in the middle and highly populated area of Masangkay Street, Sta Cruz, Manila. The hospital has a four hundred (400) bed capacity and is graded as a class A medical institution complete with world-class facilities. In order to meet the demand of its hospital nurses, the Metropolitan Hospital established its own school and came into existence in 1976 as the Metropolitan Hospital College of Nursing.

It housed many doctors who wanted to be affiliated with the expanding hospital. The hospital grew to its 6th floor in 1976 with 308 beds. The Metropolitan Hospital College of Nursing was also established in the same year. The hospital was known throughout the Philippines for providing excellent medical care. 1980s CONTINUED TECHNOLOGY ADVANCEMENT To meet the increasing needs of the hospital&#39;s clients, Metropolitan Hospital continued its technological advancements in the 1980s. 
 
The hospital also established its satellite pharmacy and department of ultrasound, CT scan and Computer System. It also created a laser and surgical ICU. 1990s FUTURE GROWTH IN THE SCOPE AND VALUE OF SERVICES A new group of investors joined the hospital to further develop its services. Semi-private wards and a 30-room executive suite wing were added to the hospital. A state-of-the art diagnostic center was also established, which offered Ultrasound, EEG and Pulmonary as well as state of-the-art Occupational Therapy and EEG. 
 
It was during this period that Metropolitan Hospital&#39;s GI Endoscopy Unit, which was the most advanced in the nation, was founded. The 2000s-A NEW NAME AND A NEW FACE For 2005, Metropolitan Hospital reached a higher level of excellence in the healthcare industry. This gave the hospital a brand new face and name. Metropolitan Hospital was transformed into Metropolitan Medical Center.

What is RESEARCH ETHICS REVIEW COMMITTEE RERC? A Research Ethics Committee REC makes decisions about the approval and implementation of proposals for research protocols. It protects the rights and safety of participants, promotes the integrity of data, and ensures the integrity of research data. The committee must be duly authorized and adhere to both national and international research ethic guidelines. In May 2003, the Cardinal Santos Medical Center Research Ethics Review Committee CSMC RERC replaced the Institutional Review Board IRB. This independent committee was established by Cardinal Santos Medical Center CSMC, under the vice president chief medical officer VP CMO. 
 
The CSMC RERC is responsible for ensuring the safety and health of all human participants in research relating to health. It also provides public assurance about that protection. The CSMC RERC, in accordance to applicable international regulations, has the power to approve, request modifications to, or deny research protocols. It also monitors compliance with procedures that have been approved. 
 
Protocols performed by Cardinal Santos Medical Center staff, residents, fellows, interns, and other medical professionals within the hospital premises and beyond. External investigators may submit protocols. Study to be done outside of CSMC. A site visit might be necessary.

COMPANY PROFILE De Los Santos Memorial Center DLSMC, a private, 150-bed Level 3 tertiary medical center in Quezon City has over 350 visiting and active multi-specialist doctors. On September 17, 1949, Dr. Jose V. de los Santos Sr. founded the hospital. He is known for being the father of Philippine Orthopedics. Do a Pacita V. de los Santos was his partner. 
 
Together they founded a clinic with 30 beds along E. Rodriguez Sr. Boulevard that specialized in rehabilitation and treatment of bone abnormalities. This was in support of their two daughters, who had been afflicted with polio. 
 
The family-owned De Los Santos Clinic was expanded to become a 150-bed hospital known as De Los Santos General Hospital. It also added specialty areas such as surgery, obstetrics, gynecology and internal medicine. De Los Santos Medical Center was renamed De Los Santos Medical Center on June 3, 2013. It became 7th MPHHI-affiliated hospital. 
 
DLSMC was upgraded by MPHHI. This included structural improvements to its main hospital and the conversion of an adjacent building into a Medical Arts Building that houses over 50 clinics. In addition to the physical expansions of the hospital, special centers were established for diagnostic and therapeutic services. These included the Eye Center and Arthritis Center and Memory Centers. 
 
It also offers specialized services such as neurosurgery and cardiology. The hospital was also the first to provide the PhilHealth Z Benefit package for kidney transplantation. DLSMC&#39;s first Catheterization Laboratory Unit opened in 2018. It offers interventional procedures for radiology, neurology and cardiology.
