A venture of the First Lady, Imelda Marcos, the Cultural Center is one place that brings together artists of all genres and gives them a platform to showcase their talent.
The centerpiece of the CCP Complex is this bombastic building designed by a local architect, Leandro V. Locsin. The epicenter of performing arts and the theater, the Center also acts as an ethnographic museum, showcasing traditional and cultural paintings that reflect the true essence of the Philippines.
Inside attractions include the country's top-performing arts theater along with a brace of quality modern art galleries – Bulwagang Juan Luna on the 4th floor, and the smaller Bulwagang Fernando Amorsolo on the 5th floor, both with changing exhibits covering modernist and contemporary painters.
Also on the 5th floor are two small museums: the Museum of Philippine Culture and the Asian Traditional Musical Instruments Museum.
The gallery and museums are open 10 am-6 pm Tuesday -Sunday
The Cultural Centre of the Philippines is a government-owned and controlled corporation established to preserve, develop and promote arts and culture. It provides performance and exhibition venues for various local and international productions and programs.
