About The Filipinas Heritage Library

The Filipinas Heritage Library initially opened to the public on 23 April 1996 and was formally inaugurated on 23 August 1996. Its specialized research library is focused on collecting, conserving, and making available to the public materials on Philippine culture, art, and history is its heart and soul.
In addition to offering traditional library services, it has also developed into a one-stop electronic research center providing and promoting access to the dynamism and wealth of the Filipino national heritage.
It has contributed to raising Filipinos’ consciousness of the need to preserve and study the country’s heritage. It has helped usher in a new era in library linkages and development. It has provided Filipinos with a more friendly and dynamic image of libraries, leading to increased and more creative interaction with the public.

Established in 1996, the Filipinas Heritage Library (FHL) is the other half of Ayala Foundation’s Arts and Culture Division. As a one-stop digital research center in the Philippines, its mission is to spark and stoke interest in the visual, aural, and printed story of the Filipino.

Incredible place to do research

Their website allowed me to locate a song written by a Filipina player of the organ. I had been trying for it since last year, but then lost its title and artist.

It was my 1st visit to this library. I was very pleased with the online booking process. I was able to check availability online and select a space. I was seated by the window. This was my first visit to the library in the two years following the outbreak of the pandemic. It was very quiet as I was with a friend. I paid 300 pesos to access the 2 hour slot. I didn't feel like I could do any meaningful work there so I had to take photos and copy the parts to home.

This is the ideal lib to read, research and relax.

Although it is a small museum, there are only a few exhibits. It's worth a visit.
