The Smokeyard was opened on June 13, 2016. It is a labor of love by owner and pitmaster Troy Conine, who has dedicated most of his career as a hotel restaurant manager, including stints at the Tivoli at the Mandarin Oriental Manila and hotels in New York City before going to barbeque school and training under legendary pitmaster Mike Mills in Southern Illinois.
After moving back to Manila, he set up this casual dining American BBQ Smokehouse serving low and slow smoked meats including Baby Back Ribs, Pork Belly, Pulled Pork, US Brisket, Beef Ribs, chicken and sausages, in-house barbecue sauces, and a selection of craft beers.
The place is perfect for hungry tummies or those who want a mouthful of sumptuous meats rubbed and smoked to perfection. You can order these meats in small portions (50 grams), so you could try a little bit of many things.
Complementing the rich taste of the meats are sides that include coleslaw, mac and cheese, vegetables, smoked beans, dirty rice, and a glass of house-made and freshly brewed iced tea.
