About The Aristocrat Restaurant

The Aristocrat Restaurant, or simply Aristocrat, is a popular Filipino restaurant founded by Engracia Cruz-Reyes, popularly known as Aling Asiang, and her husband, Justice Alex A. Reyes. From its humble beginning as a snack mobile along Roxas Boulevard in 1936, Aristocrat is now a restaurant enterprise with branches all over Metro Manila.

In 2013, the National Historical Commission of the Philippines officially recognized Aristocrat as a historic site, placing a marker at the Roxas Boulevard branch.

Aristocrat is famous for its Chicken Barbecue recipe sending local and even balikbayan patrons in droves. Aside from its barbecue specialty, the restaurant is also known for its native Filipino dishes like Kare-Kare, Chicken Honey, Crispy Pata, Pancit Canton, Dinuguan, and Lumpia.

The Aristocrat is an iconic restaurant that grew from the inspirational rags to riches story of Doña Engracia Cruz-Reyes. Aristocrat has been serving “Filipino food” for more than 84 years. Best known for its chicken barbeque with java rice.

Lola Asiang was raising her brood and decided to make a living from it. Asiang transformed the first floor of her Marquez de Comillas house into a restaurant she named Lapu-Lapu. She decided early on that she wanted to cook delicious Filipino food and make it affordable. Here are some quick links

Too busy (Saturday night). Ordered and waited for 30 minutes. Nothing arrived. It's probably best to order during the week, as their chicken is excellent.

My wife and I were so impressed about the politeness and attentiveness of the servers, including the security guards and the receptionist. This place is a model for all restaurants to follow. The place was full when we came and we did not notice any confusion from any of the servers. Btw, the food is delicious.

This restaurant is an institution. Many generations of Filipinos know this restaurant. The food is familiar, delicious and fairly priced. Due to its popularity, the place is always full. Pre pandemic, this restaurant was open 24 7, 365 days a year! I wonder if their hours are still the same
