The granddaughter of General Romulo operates Romulo Café, Sandie Squillantini, and her husband, Enzo Squillantini, came up with the concept. Yong Nieva and Ivy Almario designed the interiors and are also owners. Liana Romulo, another granddaughter, serves as curator of the walls' photographs. It is located in the city's central business district of Makati, perfect for private parties or corporate dining events.
The Cafe serves Comfort food, the old-fashioned Filipino kind. Several dishes are made from the family's heirloom recipes, like Tito Greg's Kare-Kare, and other dishes have been introduced to satisfy the more modern palate.
Romulo Café is open daily for Lunch from 11:00 am-3:00 pm and Dinner, 5:00 pm-9:00 pm
“Romulo Café is a haven for lovers of traditional Filipino cuisine served with a side of history.”
Do you offer comfort food? The old-fashioned Filipino type. Many dishes have been inspired by our family's heirloom recipe, such as Tito Greg's Kare-Kare. To please the modern palate, other dishes were introduced. Do you have a dress code? Just as the restaurants' interiors, we want our customers to feel comfortable, elegant and stylish. There are no corkage fees or kamisetas.
We offer a selection of wines priced between P750 and P2,500. You can choose one of the wines we offer, but you will need to pay a corkage charge of P500 per bottle if you bring your own wine. Reservations are accepted. Although we do allow walk-ins to some tables, it is recommended that reservations be made.
Your table will be kept for 15 minutes, then it will be given to the next person. We offer private function space in many of our branches. For as little as 8 people, we can host intimate events and for up to three hundred guests. What is Romulo Cafe? The concept was created by Sandie Squillantini (granddaughter of General Romulo), who runs the Romulo Café.
